Achieving Sustainable Development in Sudan: UNDP Resident Representative meets Sudanese Foreign Minister

UNDP Resident Representative Dr. Selva Ramachandran and Sudan Foreign Minister H.E. Asmaa Abdalla.

UNDP Resident Representative  Dr. Selva Ramachandran have met today with Sudanese Foreign Minister  H.E. Asmaa Abdalla. During the meeting, Dr. Selva have reiterated UNDP’s strong commitment to realizing the  aspirations of the Sudanese people for a prosperous future.

In this regard, both sides have reviewed  Sudan’s developmental priorities during the transitional period and means of strengthening the existing  collaboration in the areas of  economic recovery, democratic and human development interventions in line with the Sustainable Global Goals (SDGs).

UNDP Resident Representative stated “ I am  very pleased with our partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs  which will enable us to scale up UNDP development programmes all across Sudan. We look forward to further fostering of this relationship in different developmental aspects and in various  communities in Sudan.”

For her part,  the Foreign Minister commended UNDP’s role in supporting national and international partners in the transition from recovery towards sustainable development in Sudan.
