Social Good Summit

12-14 September 2015

The social good summit is held every year during the United Nations Week in 27-28 September under the slogan “What type of world I want to live in by the year 2030”.
The main objective of holding this summit is to examine the impact of technology and new media on development initiatives worldwide as well as providing concrete solutions for sustainable development.

UNDP Sudan is planning to host a Social Summit this year in Khartoum during the period 12-14 September 2015, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, DAL Food and Sudani Telecommunications Co.

A group of development experts, Government officials, non-government organizations, private sector representatives, technology leaders and entrepreneurs are scheduled to meet in 14th of September to celebrate the Sudanese youths who competed for three days in the challenges of technology contest with a view to developing innovative solutions for development sectors in Sudan.

Forty of the best proposals submitted by the Sudanese youths are invited to attend a three-day workshop that was designed specifically to assist in crystallizing ideas for competition over the best project.

This summit provides a chance to enhance the skills of youths in the domains of innovation and entrepreneurship as well as presenting their unique and innovative ideas to serve their communities.

The holding of this summit will help put Sudan’s name on the map of innovation- and innovative technological solutions – supporting countries in the region.
