UNDP Sudan has signed yesterday a letter of Agreement with the Center for Studies and Culture
October 8 2015, UNDP Sudan has signed yesterday a letter of Agreement with the Center for Studies and Culture of Peace of the Sudan University of Science and Technology in Khartoum.
The agreement comes as part of the Darfur Internal Dialogue and Consultations (DIDC) which UNDP has initiated in various localities in Darfur to consolidate peace by promoting confidence-building and encouraging reconciliation as well as unity among the people of Darfur and Sudan.
This Darfuri-Darfuri dialogue helps bridge different views of the Darfurians present in Khartoum and in Darfur which is instrumental in addressing key issues such as tribal clashes and in defining the roadmap towards successful and timely implementation of the Darfur Doha Peace Document.
In this regard, the Center for Studies and Culture of Peace will be conducting peace and mediation sessions in addition to cultural events to promote peacebuilding in Darfur.
At a later stage, locality-level dialogues will culminate in a two-day dialogue and consultation meetings in each of the five states to further crystallize the issues and recommendations gathered across localities.
UNDP country Director Mr. Selva Ramachandran signed on behalf of UNDP, whereas Dr. Abulgasim Gour, represented the Sudan University of Science and Technology.
