The social good summit is held every year during the United Nations Week in 27-28 September under the slogan “What type of world I want to live in by the year 2030”.
The main objective of holding this summit is to examine the impact of technology and new media on development initiatives worldwide as well as providing concrete solutions for sustainable development.

Supporting Biodiversity in Sudan: UNDP and Government of Sudan Launch the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan
As part of UNDP’s continuous efforts to build the capacities of developing countries to manage  biodiversity through the provision of sound policy advice and the implementation of programmes that demonstrate sound biodiversity management practices, UNDP Sudan in collaboration with the Higher Council for Environment and Natural Resources launched on August 24th the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) which serves as a reference for biodiversity interventions in Sudan.

Youth Day Celebrations in Sudan
In Khartoum, around 50 students from the College of Fine and Applied Arts at Sudan University organized an open day drawing exhibition under the theme “Youth Civic Engagement in colours” on 9th August. The day opened up a space for young people to share their stories and ideas on civic engagement and to highlight their future roles and their achievements in pushing forward the development agenda in Sudan.

Khartoum, 12 May, 2015: UNDP Sudan conducted its first prototyping workshop for its newly proposed online platform “Raik Shino.”
“Raik Shino” is an online gamified dialogue platform that enables the Sudanese public with a forum to creatively interact and discuss the future of Sudan.

UNDP Annual Review 2014
On 10 – 11 February more than 100 UNDP partners and staff met at AlSalam Rotana to review UNDP’s achievements over the past year as well as discuss ways forward for 2015 and beyond. With broad representation from state and federal level government counterparts as well as civil society institutions and international partners, the discussions were rich and a number of important recommendations emerged.

Darfur Coordination Meeting for Recovery, Reconstruction and Development
Beset by years of endemic conflict, poverty, destruction of natural resources, and deterioration of livelihoods, the state of Darfur is constantly caught up in a vicious circle of insecurity, conflict, and economic hard¬ship.  Further, unequal access to livelihoods has heightened tensions between commu-nities and fuelled local conflict in most areas, particularly the ones receiving a large number of re-turnees.

National Human Rights Commission Launches its First Strategic Plan ( 2014-2018)
On Thursday 27th of March 2014 at the Friendship Hall in Khartoum, the first Strategic Plan of the National Commission for Human Rights of the Republic of Sudan (2014-2018) was launched.  The event was attended by senior government officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps, civil society organizations and international organisations in addition to the media.
