Switzerland commits $1m to Darfur Livelihoods

UNDP and the Swiss Development Cooperation Agency signed today an agreement which will grant $1m to promote sustainable livelihoods of Darfuri people. The Swiss funded Darfur Livelihoods and Recovery Project works to improve natural resource management and reduce natural resource-based conflicts and to strengthen the role of economic actors and public institutions linked to value chains and market during the period between 2016 and the end of 2017.

The workshop is carried out as part of the activities of the UNDP project of “Enhancement of Investment Climate for Employment Generation”. The project supports the efforts of Government of Sudan to improve employment opportunities through enhancing investment climate, which will be able to attract investment opportunities to generate more employment.
