This generous contribution enables UNDP to support the Government of Sudan initiating project implementation immediately in the target states.

  • Japan Contributes USD 750,000 to the Strengthening of Rule of Law in SudanJan 28, 2015Khartoum, The Government of Japan has made a generous contribution of USD 750,000 to UNDP’s Strengthening the Capacity of the Sudan National Human Rights Commission (SNHRC) project which will be implemented from 2015 to 2018 with the main objective of supporting the SNHRC in the development of its operational, technical and legal capacities to become a cornerstone within Sudan’s national human rights protection system, in line with the Paris Principles.

  • Seeking Alterative Energy in Sudan: UNDP and the Ministry Of Water Resources Initiate the Use of Wind Power in Sudan –A 200 Million Dollar ProjectDec 4, 2014Khartoum - The Ministry of Water Resources and Electricity and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have signed today an agreement on the funding and implementation of a five-year project on “Promoting Utility Scale Power Generation from Wind Energy” in Sudan. The project’s total budget amounts to US$ 217 million of which US$ 213 million is invested by the Government of Sudan, with additional support from the Global Environment Facility and UNDP amounts US$ 4 million.

  • Qatar Development donates $1.7 Million for Darfur Internal Dialogue ConsultationsDec 4, 2014Khartoum, 04 November 2014. During the joint visit to Doha of African Union-United Nations Acting Joint Special Representative (JSR) and Joint Chief Mediator a.i. for Darfur, Mr. Abiodun Bashua and Ali Al-Za’tari, UN Resident Coordinator/ Humanitarian Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Sudan, the Qatar Development Fund (QVN) signed a USD 1.7 million grant agreement to finance the Darfur Internal Dialogue Consultations, led by the United Nations African Union Hybrid Mission in Darfur (UNAMID).

  • Switzerland Continues its Support to the Recovery and Development Efforts in DarfurSep 18, 2014Khartoum-September 17, 2014 - Switzerland continues its support to the recovery and development efforts in Darfur. Today, an amount of USD267,000 has been granted to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in support for its Livelihoods and Recovery Programme targeting vulnerable communities in Central, West, North and South Darfur.
