The
United Nations’ coordinated
approach to the delivery of humanitarian
aid in Sudan has been manifested in
the Work Plan for Sudan that encompasses
UN Agencies and many NGOs that have
participated in a process of nationwide
coordination by fourteen sectors and
eight planning regions.ted in a process

Given the existence of this comprehensive
Work Plan, a number of donors and
UN Organizations have agreed to establish
a common fund mechanism - the Common
Humanitarian Fund or CHF - for donor
contributions to the Work Plan.
The CHF will aim to give the Humanitarian
Coordinator greater ability to target
funds at the most critical needs,
encourage early donor contributions
and allow rapid response to unforeseen
needs.

Administrative
Agent Role
Under Delegation of Authority from
the Executive Coordinator of the Multi Donor Trust Fund Office.
UNDP administers the CHF on behalf of the UN and Humanitarian
Coordinator for Sudan.
As Participating UN Organization
to the CHF, UNDP Country Office manages the access to National
and International NGO to pool funds, through grant agreements
in NGO execution modality, under the directives of the Humanitarian
Coordinator.
Technical
Secretariat Support
UNOCHA host the Technical
Secretariat in support of the Humanitarian Coordinator for the
CHF. The role of OCHA Technical Secretariat is to provide appropriate
and timely advice, technical assistance and support on matters
of policy, prioritization and allocation of resources.
